13th February 2003 And that's me...Completed There I was squirming, writhing with pain. Hands clenched, fist like, forward and outstretched. Eyes wide open, staring straight and fixed. Mouth open, silently screaming through the excruciating pain. Then still. That's when time stopped for me, people crowded and watched as he wept, cowering over my lifeless body, and all I could do was watch. I wanted so much to be able to tell him that everything would be ok, but I couldn't. He looked up, staring straight through me, fear I his eyes, tears running down his face. For a brief moment I believed that he had seen me, that this was fiction, unreal. The moment passed as the shrieking bellow of the ambulance stormed down the street.
