Have a little read: ... Analyse Robert Louis Stevenson's presentation of Edward Hyde in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. What does this character represent? In the strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, we learn trough out the novel and as the character of Dr. Jekyll evolves that he comes more and more near to Mr. Hyde, in the end Mr. Utterson learns that Dr. Jekyll is Mr. Hyde. Edward Hyde is like the complete opposite of Dr. Jekyll. Mr. Hyde is gothic monster that means he comes from a gothic novel. A gothic novel is a novel where there is light against darkness it also combines horror and romance. A gothic monster is generally a character that is like a monster through the novel. Hyde is described as "pale and dwarfish, he gave an impression of deformity without any nameable malformation." Mr. Hyde is described as small so that he can hide in Dr.
