Writing to persuade Teenagers not to Smoke We all know that smoking's bad for us. Any vaguely intelligent teenager on the planet can figure out that filling your lungs with poisonous chemicals and toxins is really not a great idea. So why do we do it? I think most of you will agree that it's nothing to with a massive stupidity epidemic. The big issues here are curiosity, peer pressure and image. Logically, your health should be more important than all three, but it's so easy to become a victim of the "only once" syndrome or become convinced "it won't ever happen to me". The truth is you're just as likely to fall foul of the terrible effects of smoking as anyone else is and "only once" is sometimes all it takes. Still not convinced? Well here are some facts....
