The Inspector Calls is a play written by J.B Priestly in 1945 and first produced in London in 1946. The play reflects Priestly's socialist views, it also shows how you should be responsible for your own actions. This play was set in 1912 and takes place in the Birling household. The main characters consist of the Birling family, Inspector Goole and Eva Smith, Eva Smith having been connected to every one of the Birling's, after having committed suicide. The play gives out the message of social responsibility, this means being responsible for one another's actions.
