Romeo and Juliet - Act 1 Scene 5 In this essay I will investigate why Act 1 Scene 5 is such an effective piece of drama. In order to do this I will see how Shakespeare got his message across to the audience, for this is a measure which I will judge its effectiveness as a scene. To do this I will have to look at all the dramatic techniques that he employs, the embedded sonnet, use of juxtaposition, and use of imagery. In Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, about two love struck teenagers whom aren't able to be together due to their families feud/ social situation. There is two key themes that of love and hate.
