English media assignment How does the opening sequence in "The Matrix" capture the attention of the audience?" Every movie consists of an opening sequence in which the producer deliberately makes dramatic in order to ensure that the audience has successfully identified the character roles and genre in the film. In the same way, the Matrix is a movie which displays a sci-fi, mystery and crime drama genre. The producer purposely ensures the movie consists of these conventions in order to make it exciting, resulting in the developing of tension throughout. The term "Matrix" defines permanent computer dream, which shows a fantasy throughout the movie, in which both the viewers and characters are captured in Greek religion. The Matrix borrows its imagery from this due to the various names given to the characters in the movie.
