Coursework Explore the ways that Shakespeare makes Act 1 Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet dramatically effective. Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's masterpieces , believed to be written in the 16th Century. The main storyline of the play is about two tragic love struck teenagers who are unable to be together because their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, are enemies. Romeo is a Montague, Juliet is a Capulet.The Prologue itself creates the sense of fate by providing the audience with the knowledge that Romeo and Juliet will die even before the play has begun. The audience therefore watches the play with the expectation that it must fulfill the terms set in the Prologue. There are several themes in the play, which include destiny, hate, love and marriage.
