Does Hollywood have a negative impact on the world? 'Hollywood' generally stands for the cultural products of the United States of America, primarily films, television programmes, music and global broadcasters such as CNN and MTV. In 1998, thirty-nine of the most successful films are from the USA, and the Europe domestic industries hold 30% of their national market share. Undoubtedly, the Hollywood is a great success. Not only because Hollywood productions are tremendously popular, but also because the influence it has on society and social behaviour as well as education and morality has been overwhelming. Yet, the triumph of it does not indicate that there is no negative impact. It is evident that many US productions, especially films, glorify sex and violence. This attacks the moral values of society and leads the young generation astray. Even in America, the ethical values of Hollywood incurred substantial criticism in the 2000 Presidential race....
