Choose two poems that deal with the experience of migration. Show how this is shown through the language and imagery of the poem Sujata Bhatt was born in India. Later on she moved to America to broaden her knowledge at university. The poem Search For My Tongue was written during her days at university. The poem tells the reader about the struggle to keep her mother tongue. Sujata Bhatt expresses her feelings with graphic and striking imagery. In this poem she shows the reader that the language of a person is an important part of their identity. The poet engages the reader by addressing them, 'you ask me what I mean by saying I have lost my tongue. I ask you what you would do if you had two tongues in your mouth, and lost the first one, the mother tongue, and could not really know the other the mother tongue'....
