Production methods One off production. One highly skilled crafts person may produce a single garment over days or weeks. The time taken will depend on the design of the garment and the techniques used to create it. For example a hand-beaded dress will take considerably longer than a simple t-shirt. One off production may be used in the theatre where only one costume is required for a specific character. It is also used by a fashion house wanting to produce a garment to fit an individual customer. This is very costly in terms of labour and materials and only a very small amount of people can afford to buy such garments, but these garments are finished to a very high quality.
