Annie Sherburne: shopping with a conscience It is rare when shopping in such a commercial environment such as London in today's society that we think of anything other than aesthetics and cost when purchasing a product. It was however whilst Christmas shopping with my younger sister at the Islington design centre that I came across the work of Annie Sherburne. Sherburne is a pioneering textile artist and designer who strives to include a moral aspect in her work, contributing to the well being of the environment and strengthening the industry of which she is a part. A number of things can be done to improve the aesthetics of a sample or piece of fabric. One way is using dyes.
