Is the layout of Gladstone pottery, as you would expect from your Knowledge of the processes of the pottery industry? The first part of the pottery making process is the importing of raw materials. On my visit to Gladstone I saw things that were logical and illogical. The entrance to the site was very narrow and this seems illogical because it would have been hard to get the horse and cart in with raw materials. One way in which the layout was logical was the courtyard. The courtyard was a large circular area. This is good because it would be easy to unload the raw materials into the slip house and also for the horse and cart to turn around and leave once empty. Another way in which Gladstone's layout was logical was in the slip house. In this room several processes took place. There were machines to weigh and mix the raw materials....
