This drawing is a horse on a bone fragment from Robin Hood Cave. The hunters of the Last Ice Age were also artists. Although there are few works to show their creativity in Britain, many are known from France, Spain, central Europe, Russia, Ukraine and Siberia. Sculptures, engraved drawings, paintings, and jewellery are often found with tools and weapons made by full modern humans after about 35,000 years ago. This is a type of weapon they would use a spear. Stone Age people during the Ice Age were nomadic. They travelled on foot, possibly over vast areas, to gather and hunt for food, moving between different camps at different times of the year. Animals including fish and birds were the main source of food. Bones from archaeological sites show that nothing of the animal was wasted. After the meat was cut off the bones, they were smashed to eat...
