What sort of person was Aeneas? In book I Aeneas is first shown to care for his men since during Aeolus' storm he looks for them to check they are safe and also feels sadness when his helmsman is thrown overboard. He is also shown to be caring once they have landed near Carthage when he climbs a hill to look for them over the sea. Aeneas is also shown to be a strong leader when, after he has anchored his ships, he tries to encourage his disheartened men. He reminds them that they have survived far greater misfortune at the hands of the Cyclopes, Charibdis and Scylla and that they will also survive this unfortunate circumstance. Aeneas is later shown to be a jealous person when he says to Achates that he is jealous of Dido since her city is already half built. This shows he is jealous since he has...
