The success of "Lysistrata" depends of the characterization of its eponymous heroine, Lysistrata, as she is the person who initiates the idea of a sex revolt against the men; a concept which the plot of the play is mainly based on. "I am going to bring it about that no man, for at least a generation, will raise a spear against another".
