Task In this investigation, I will be looking into the effect of a certain variable on the rate of reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid. There are quite a number of variable that I could choose to vary. Some of these include the concentration of hydrochloric acid, temperature of the experiment (temperature of the hydrochloric acid). I could also vary the surface area of the magnesium or the length or mass of the magnesium strips. The last two variables are too hard to investigate here because there is a limited range of values that I could use. The first two are easier to investigate. I am going to investigate the effect of concentration on the rate of reaction.
