To investigate the factors that affect the Rate of Reaction between Marble chips and dilute Hydrochloric acid PLAN INTRODUCTION CaCO3(s) + 2HCl(aq) --> CaCl2(aq) + H20(l) + CO2(g) I am going to investigate the factors that affect the rate of reaction between marble chips and dilute hydrochloric acid. The variable that I will change will be the concentration of the acid by diluting it each time with water. The method that I will use will be: to put the dilute hydrochloric acid into a conical flask with some marble chips. I will then measure the volume of gas produced in a gas syringe at a certain points in time. The experiment will then be repeated with different concentrations of acid. This method is most effective because it is efficient and will give the most accurate and reliable. I already know that the more dilute a solution is the slower the rate of reaction...
