Charlotte Carmichael 10H Aim: To investigate the effects of concentration on the reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid. I am going to carry out an experiment to see the effects of changing the concentration of sodium Thiosulphate in the reaction between sodium Thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid. I will be using 0.4m Sodium Thiosulphate which will be diluted as the experiment progresses. Safety For this experiment we will be using hydrochloric acid so it is important that safety goggles are worn at all times and we are generally careful when using the acid. Although sodium thiosulphate is not harmful when it reacts with hydrochloric acid the gas produced (sulphur dioxide) is harmful so we must insure that as soon as the experiment is complete we get rid of the solution. All normal lab rules must also be obeyed. Apparatus For this experiment I will be using; * 0.4m Sodium Thiosulphate * Hydrochloric acid * Stopwatch * Test Tubes * Conical...
