Rates Of Reaction Aim: To find out how the concentration of an acid affects the rate of reaction. I am reacting different concentrations of HCL acid with the same concentration of sodium thiosulphate. I predict the HCL acid which is 2m, will react faster with the sodium thiosulphate. I know this because of concentration, all the particles have kinetic energy and in order for a chemical reaction to occur, particles in a solution need to collide into one another with sufficient force and energy. Now in a solution of HCL acid 0.5m and sodium thiosulphate the collisions would be minimum because of not enough concentration but in a solution of HCL acid 2m and sodium thiosulphate the collisions would be very high because of quite a lot of concentration. 0.5m 2m Concentration Not many collisions More collisions Same area =Sodium thiosulphate =HCL acid particles Fair test These variables I will control are the temperature, I will...
