The effect of temperature on the rate of reaction GCSE chemistry coursework Planning In this experiment I will find out what effect temperature has on the rate of reaction. I will do this by testing how long it takes a cross drawn on a piece of paper to disappear when sodium thiosulphate is heated and put in a conical flask on top of the piece of paper. I will make this test fair by using equal amounts of sodium thiosulphate, and using the same size and thickness cross all the way through. I will also use accurate measuring devices and get the same person to take the results, so that the degree of human error is the same, plus I will use the same amount of water and make sure that it is heated to exactly the temperature that it is supposed to.
