Robynne Shipley 10G Factors Effecting Action of Lipase Effect of Substrate Concentration on the action of Lipase Aim The aim of this experiment is to find out how the substrate concentration effects the action of lipase. Method * 4 test tubes were taken and put into a test tube rack. * Each test tube was labelled using (full fat; semi (skimmed); jersey (full fat); skimmed) with the type of milk that was going to be put into it. * 5 cm³ of milk was put into each of the test tubes. * 7 cm³ of sodium carbonate was then put into each of the test tubes and a few drops of phenothalin. * Finally 1 cm³ of 5% conc. Lipase was added and the stopwatch started. * Each time one of the solutions lost its colour (i.e. went from pink to white) the time was recorded. * When all the solutions lost their colour (or it was seen as the experiment...
