Introduction I have been asked to investigate one factor that affects the rate of reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate solution and dilute Hydrochloric Acid. The reaction Sodium Thiosulphate is a solution made up Sodium, Sulphur and Oxygen. Equation: Na2S2O3 Dilute Hydrochloric Acid is an acid containing Hydrogen and Chlorine. Equation: 2HCl When Sodium Thiosulphate is mixed with dilute Hydrochloric Acid a reaction occurs. This reaction forms a precipitate of yellow sulphur as one of the products. This precipitate can be used to measure the rate of this reaction.
