The Effect Of Concentration on the Rate Of A Chemical Reaction The aim of this investigation is to find out the effect the concentration of a reactant has on the rate of the reaction. Variables The main variables I could have chosen to change are: 1) The volume of reactants 2) The temperature of reactants 3) The type of container where the reaction takes place 4) The concentration of the reactants Prediction I predict that the higher the concentration the faster the rate of reaction. I also predict that the graph produced from my results will look like this: I predict this will happen because in a reaction where one or more reactants, in this case just sodium thiosulphate, are in low concentration the particles are spread out and will not collide with each other very often.
