GCSE Chemistry - Sodium Thiosulphate Coursework In this investigation we will be looking at different rates of reactions, and affects different changes have on them. A reaction is a loss of the reactant substance or the rate of formation of a substance during a chemical reaction. There are five factors to take into account according to the collision theory, temperature, concentration, pressure, surface area and catalysts. Iv chosen to investigate the effect of concentration on this investigation as it will be the most practical, as the preparation of the products will not have accurate results and appropriate equipment from human interference. Aim: - To see the effects of a change in concentration, on the rate of a reaction. The reaction that will be used is: Sodium Thiosulphate + Hydrochloric Acid+ water Na2S2O3 (aq) + 2HCl (aq) + h20 (I) I will use varying the concentration (while keeping everything else constant).
