Ryan Carl Davies 10(ER)C G.C.S.E Chemistry Coursework Sodium Thiosulphate And Hydrochloric Acid Experiment What I Intend To Discover? I intend to discover what affects the rate of reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate, and Hydrochloric Acid. I know that when the above chemicals are mixed they produce a yellow precipitate of sulphur, I realise that by increasing the temperature of the Sodium Thiosulphate before the acid is added I can increase the rate of reaction. As the reaction progresses the solution in the conical flask will turn cloudy, at the end of the reaction the previous ability to see through the solution will have gone, By placing a black cross under the conical flask I will be able to calculate the rate of reaction by timing how long it takes for the cross to disappear, below is a diagram of how I will obtain my results.
