Reaction Rates Aim To study the effect of one variable on the rate of reaction between magnesium and sulphuric acid. How can the Rate of Reaction be Recorded There are at least three different ways of recording the rate of reaction, they are; recording the change in pH, recording the change in mass and recording the volume of gas produced. I will not be recording the change in pH as this is too difficult and it is not the most efficient way. I will not be recording the change in mass as the only reason the mass will change is because when the sulphuric acid comes in contact with the magnesium, hydrogen is produced. Although this would show a change in mass, hydrogen is a very light gas and the change will be too insignificant therefore it will not be accurate. Although I will not be measuring the amount of hydrogen lost, I could measure...
