Rates of reactions between 1 gram of Marble Chips and 10ml Hydrochloric acid (HCL) For this piece of coursework, I intend to investigate the rates of reactions of marble chips and different concentration of Hydrochloric acid (HCL). I will be measuring 1 gram of marble chips to 10ml of: * 0.1 Molar (M) * 0.25 M * 0.5 M * 1.0 M * 2.0 M of HCL, to see how much Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is given off. Formula Hydrochloric acid + Calcium carbonate Calcium Chloride+ water + Carbon dioxide (2HCL) + (CaCo3) (CaCl2) + (H2O)+ (CO2) Aim of the investigation The aim of this experiment is to find out how much CO2 is given off in a rate of reaction between marble chips and HCL acid. As well as how many particle reactions happen in 1 second to so much ml of 2HCL. Hypothesis The greater the concentration of HCL acid the more particle collisions there are in the rate of reactions. Hypothesis Experimentation The...
