Rates of Reaction Aim: To investigate the rate of reaction between marble chips (CaCO3) and hydrochloric acid. Method: We will be using four different strengths of hydrochloric acid and react it with CaCO3 and record the vary in the level of CO2 produced in 30 seconds. To keep this a fair test we will be using exactly 30 seconds of reaction time and exactly 8g of CaCO3 and this will ensure that this is a fair test. The item that may need most controlling will be the time that we count because the CO2 level needs to be read at exactly 30 seconds.
