Rates of Reaction Investigation Introduction Rates of reaction are the speed of which a reaction takes place depending on the variables, which are changed. Aim We are adding sodium Thiosulphate to dilute hydrochloric acid then timing to see how long it takes to react. Variables we could change We could change the amounts of dilute hydrochloric acid and the sodium Thiosulphate or we could change the temperature. We could also change the concentration of both liquids. Variables we did change The variable that we did change was the temperature. We went from 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, and 80°. Preliminary To find the range of temperatures we used in our experiment we did preliminary tests. To find our preliminary work we took Sodium Thiosulphate and dilute hydrochloric acid at the concentrations they were given to us and decided to find the range we would use for the experiment.
