Introduction Rate of reaction is the speed at which a reaction takes place. If the rate of reaction increases this means less time will be needed for the reaction and it will happen faster than before. In this project, there are two substances being used. The first one is Hydrochloric Acid and the second Magnesium ribbon. This reaction is not a particularly dangerous one however when you are changing variables such as temperature and concentration they can be dangerous if not handled correctly. The variables which I will be looking at, are Temperature, Concentration and Surface Area. These will all be changed separately and I will look at a range of results for each to see if they do in fact make the rate of reaction change.
