... Limestone and Acid Aim: My aim is to find out the rate of reaction of marble chips when put into hydrochloric acid, and how much volume (cm3) of gas is produced at different temperatures. Planning: I will try and make sure I devise a fair test by obtaining variables. I will make sure I use the right amount of water (1 litre) each time I do the experiment, I will make sure the water is at the right temperature, no more, no less (the chosen temp, i.e.; 20oc, 30oc...etc). I will make sure I use the right amount of marble chips each time (0.4 grams), I will make sure I will use the right amount hydrochloric acid each time (10ml), I will wash all the equipment out each time after every experiment so none of the excess acid or marble chips will ruin my next experiment.
