SCIENCE YEAR 10 COURSEWORK-Investigating the effect of temperature on the rate of reaction I am going to investigate how temperature affects the rate of the reaction: 2HCL (aq) +NS203 (aq) S(s) + 2NaCL (aq) +SO2 + H2O PLAN Background Information This reaction is a precipitate reaction as Sulphur is being produced. This reaction does not need a lot of heat to produce the precipitate. The rate of a reaction can be increased by applying any of the following: Increasing temperature- the particles have more energy so they are travelling at a higher speed, increasing the chance of collision Increasing concentration-there are more particles in the same amount of space so they are more likely to collide Adding a catalyst- the catalyst makes the particles react more easily and quicker Increasing Surface area- Allows the particles more space where they can collide with each their. By doing any of these in a...
