Investigating the effect of temperature or concentration On the rate of a reaction The Reaction I am going to use potassium carbonate to react with hydrochloric acid to form potassium chloride, water and the gas carbon dioxide. The equation for this is: Potassium carbonate + Hydrochloric Acid --> Potassium Chloride + Water + Carbon dioxide K2CO3+2HCl --> 2KCl+H2O+CO2 However the problem is I am trying to investigate the effect of temperature on the rate of this reaction. Prediction I think that if I increase the temperature or the concentration of the acid by the same amount each time, the rate of the reaction will also increase around the same amount each time. However, this time I am going to test the effect of temperature on the rate of reactant. I believe that this will happen because increasing the temperature can help speeding up reactions by all the particles moving much faster, so I think if I...
