Formula The equation for the reaction is: - CH3CO.CH3 CH3.CO.CH2I + HI Prediction I predict that increasing the concentration of the propanone increases the rate at which reaction with iodine (I2) takes place, because the density of particles in more concentrated solutions is greater, the chances of collision between propanone particles and iodine particles increases, the chance of reaction also increases. Furthermore if the concentration doubles I predict that the rate of reaction will double because the density of the particles doubles, doubling the chance of collision.
