Chemistry Coursework Investigating the affect of concentration on rate of reaction The rate of reaction shows us how quickly or slowly a chemical reaction happens. Factors that affect the rate of reaction are that of the temperature, surface area, concentration of acid and also a catalyst. Aim For this investigation I am going to investigate the effect of 4 different concentrations of hydrochloric acid to see the different rates of reaction. The formula I will be using in this experiment is Calcium Carbonate + Hydrochloric acid = Calcium Chloride + Carbon Dioxide + Water CaCO3 (s) + 2HCl (aq) = CaCl2 (aq) + CO2 (g) + H20 (l) Prediction My prediction is that the higher the concentration the quicker the reaction will be I believe that if you double the concentration, the rate will also be doubled as increasing the concentration will mean that the acid particles will collide with one...
