Investigating Reaction Times Introduction Reaction time is the time between the stimulus and the response by a person. It takes a finite time for information to pass from a sense organ (e.g. the eye or touch sensors in the fingers), to the brain and back again to the part of the body which is going to respond (e.g. the hand). This time can be measured by dropping a ruler and measuring how far it has fallen when caught. Prediction I predict that the reaction time will be very small, (just a second or so). I think that there will be no difference between male and female reaction times, but it is probable that older people will react slower as people tend to slow down with age. I also predict that an older child will have a quicker reaction time than a younger child as they are not yet fully developed. I think left...
