Investigating Reaction Rate between Sodium Thiosulphate and Sulphuric Acid The main variables are: * Temperature * Concentration of sodium thiosulphate * Concentration of sulphuric acid * Suitable catalyst In this investigation the main variable that will be controlled is the concentration of sodium thiosulphate. I am going to keep the temperature and concentration of sulphuric acid fixed. As there is no suitable catalyst for this experiment a catalyst won't be used. Preliminary I did two experiments to see how temperature affects the rate of reaction between sodium thiosulphate and sulphuric acid. I poured 15cm³ of sodium thiosulphate with 10 cm³ of water in a conical flask. Then when I added 5cm³ of sulphuric acid, I gave the mixture a stir, and then timed how long it took the mixture to turn cloudy so that the 'x' on the paper beneath the flask became obscured. I did the first experiment at room temperature...
