Investigate into the factors that affect the rate of sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid Plan: I have to investigate into a factor that affects the rate of reaction between sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid. The factors that I could change are the pH of the acid, the concentration of the sodium thiosulphate and the temperature of the solution. The factor that I have chosen to vary is the concentration of the sodium thiosulphate. To do this I will dilute different amounts of sodium thiosulphate with water. Amount of sodium thiosulphate to be used / cm³ Amount of water to be used / cm³ 10 40 20 30 30 20 40 10 50 0 Apparatus: * Water * Sodium Thiosulphate * Hydrochloric Acid * Conical Flask * Square of paper with a black cross on it * Measuring Cylinder * Stop Watch * Thermometer Method: First I will measure 10cm³ of sodium thiosulphate in a measuring cylinder, and put it in a conical flask. I will then measure 40cm³ of water in a measuring cylinder and...
