GCSE CHEMISTRY COURSEWORK Planning experimental procedures Aim To investigate how the reaction rate, when magnesium reacts with sulphuric acid, is affected by the concentration of sulphuric acid. What I will do to make my experiment a fair test and what I will measure and control In order to see how the concentration of sulphuric acid affects the reaction rate, I will measure the amount of gas produced at regular intervals There will be a set finishing time and so the concentration that completes the reaction the quickest i.e. produces the maximum amount of gas in the quickest time possible. A fixed amount of gas will be produced as there is a fixed amount of magnesium and because there is a fixed amount of one reactant, then there can only be a fixed amount of product produced. I know a gas will be produced as the reaction formula is: Mg +H SO MgSO +H H is...
