Investigating the rate of reaction Plan I am going to investigate the rate of reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate solution and Hydrochloric acid. Below are the equations for this reaction. Sodium Thiosulphate + hydrochloric acid ( sodium chloride + water + sulphur dioxide + sulphur Na2S2O3 + 2HCl ( 2NaCl + H2O + SO2 + S In this experiment I can change different variables to see what effect it has on the rate of the reaction. The different variables that affect the rate of reaction are: - * Temperature of the reactants * Concentration of reactants in the solution * Pressure of gaseous reactants * Surface area of solid reactants * Adding a catalyst For this experiment I can change the temperature or concentration. I will change the concentration of reactants in the solution. The other variable I will keep the same in order to make the experiment a fair test.
