Joseph Batchelor 14th November 02 Chemistry Coursework Purpose I am doing this experiment to find how long it takes for Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid to react with each other. I am hoping it will tell us what affects the rate of reaction. If it will be faster if I increased the heat of the reaction of decreased the Sodium Thiosulphate or Hydrochloric acid. Prediction I am going to in crease the temperature and the volume of Sodium Thiosulphate. I think it will speed up. I will start at room temperature then go up 10 degrees each time all the way up to 65 degrees. I think this will happen because the more you heat the ST the more particles move more quickly and so they react quicker because the more movement the move likely the particles will have a collusion.
