AIM: How does the concentration of hydrogen peroxide effect the rate of catalase action? PREDICTION: If we increase the concentration of hydrogen peroxide the catalase reaction will increase. The reaction will be more faster because the more hydrogen peroxide the faster the catalase will work. 2 CATALASE 2 H2 O2 H2O + O2 The scientific theory for this is kinetic theory. This theory explains the pressure of a gas as being due to collisions between the particles and the walls of the container. The kinetic theory is based on the concept of an ideal gas; real gas consists of molecules having a finite volume. The kinetic theory is extended to all matter and regards the internal energy of a body as the total of the translational, rotational, or vibrational energy of it's constituent particles. The reaction in the test tube between hydrogen peroxide and the catalase is where the theory is applied. This theory...
