George Cooper - 7031 How can a coach of individual, racket and team activities Enhance reaction, response and movement time? Everyone has a reaction time and this can be measured. In this essay I am going to look in to the stages of reacting within sport, how reaction times can be recorded, improved upon and why they are important for sport. Many different sports require a good reaction time these can include individual sports, racket sports and team sports, which are the main areas for this essay. There are three stages of reacting to a stimulus these are: Stage 1 - Stimulus identification, using senses to register the surroundings. Stage 2 - Response selection, deciding on the appropriate action. Stage 3 - Response programming, using motor programmes to move muscles.
