AIM The aim of this investigation it to find out how rate of reaction changes when the concentration is changed. Other variables also affect the rate of photosynthesis but we shall keep these the same and change only the concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide so we can see only the affect that concentration has on the rate of reaction. THEORY Theory The formula for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is as follows: 2H202(aq) => 2H20(l) + O2(g) It is worth noting that the compounds used are used as catalysts and therefore they are not used up, nor do they play a part in the equation. They simply act to speed up the natural process of hydrogen peroxide decomposition COLLISION THEORY For a chemical reaction to occur, the reacting particles (atoms, molecules or ions) must collide.
