Factors effecting the rate of reaction between sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid Reaction I want to study. I want to study the effects of reaction between sodium thiosulphate with an acid (hydrochloric acid) at different concentrations. When these two are mixed fine particles of sulphur is released. It is coloured a milky yellow solution. Background Knowledge Factors that may effect the rate of reaction: - ~ Temperature- a reaction is faster when the temperature is raised. As the temperature increases every 10?C the reaction time approximately increases. ~ Concentration- a reaction increases when the concentration of a reactant increases. In this experiment we will increase the concentration of the sodium thiosulphate. ~ Particle size- the smaller the particles the faster the reaction as there will be more of a surface area for the acid to attack. ~ Catalyst- A catalyst is a substance that changes the rate of a chemical reaction. From my previous knowledge I...
