Experiment to investigate factors affecting the rate of reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid I am going to do an experiment to investigate one factor that affects the rate of reaction between sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid. Rate of reaction can be changed be changed by: * Changing the temperature of reactants * Changing the concentration of reactants in the solution * Changing the pressure of gaseous reactants * Changing the surface area of solid reactants * Adding a catalyst. Changing the temperature of the reactants could affect the results of this experiment because the higher the temperature the more energy the particles have. The more energy the particles have the faster they move. This increases the likelihood of the particles colliding and also increases the force that the particles hit each other with.
