EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON RATE OF REACTION Aim: The experiment will consist of monitoring the reaction between sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3) and dilute hydrochloric acid (HCl), in which a precipitate of sulphur is produced. This will allow us to determine what effect altering temperature will have on the rate of reaction. Question: I will attempt to determine if when temperature is doubled, the rate of reaction is doubled as well. In other words, is temperature directly proportional to the rate of a reaction, or not? Variables: There are two main variables that we will need to control while executing this experiment. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, we need to regulate temperature as that is the main thing we are measuring. If temperature is not accurately controlled, our results will be erroneous. In addition, time will have to be closely recorded, as this other variable plays a significant role in the experiment. Reactions...
