Dynamic Equilibrium Dynamic equilibrium occurs in a closed system, with a suitable temperature, both reactions will happen at once. Eventually the both forward and backward reactions will be going at the same rate. The words 'Dynamic' refers to movement and have a lot of energy. The word 'Equilibrium' means that the amount of each substance stays the same. In dynamic equilibrium there is constant movement. This means the reactants are changing to products and products are changing to reactants. At the point of equilibrium the rate of forward and backward reaction are the same. And the amount of reactants and products are the same. There are some factors that affect the position of equilibrium using Le Châtelier's principle to explain the factors: Concentration Pressure Temperature The position of equilibrium shifts to try to cancel out any changes you introduces. Concentration: According to Le Châtlier's Principle if the concentration of a substance increases the equilibrium moves to the side with less...
