Chemistry coursework Different sizes of Marble Chips (calcium carbonate) & Hydrochloric acid Plan My target is to investigate which size marble chips well dissolve the quickest in Hydrochloric acid. I know the reaction of calcium carbonate and hydrochloric creates calcium chloride water and carbon dioxide by balancing the equation. CaCo3 + 2Hcl Co2 + H2O + CaCl2 To conduct a fare experiment I need to keep everything the same in all experiments: The room temperature The volume of acid The concentration of the acid and all the different sizes of calcium carbonate the same weight. I well conduct my experiment at room temperature (20 degrees centigrade) and use 1 mol of hydrochloric acid, also the volume of hydrochloric acid I will apply is 100 ml.
