Brief: Design an experiment to investigate how one factor can change the rate/speed of a chemical reaction. Investigating the effect temperature has on the rate of a reaction between Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid. I have decided to investigate CaCo3+HCl as my chosen experiment. Most acids react with most things. By changing some factors you can increase or decrease the rate of a reaction e.g. In class experiments I have seen that the more dilute acid is used the slower the rate of the reaction will be. This is because there are fewer particles to collide together. The factor I will change will be the temperature, if you increase or decrease the temperature the particles move more or less vigorously the particles then have more or less chance of colliding with the particles making more of an effect on the reaction.
